CACI is seeking an experienced Appeon PowerBuilder developer to join our Naval Tactical Command Support System (NTCSS) team at Norfolk. This is a hybrid role that can be remote with occasional travel to our headquarters and requires that you are located within the local commuting distance (65 miles) to Naval Station Norfolk, VA. This assignment requires a PowerBuilder developer who is experienced in diving into legacy code which may not be completely documented to maintain the existing PowerBuilder code base and implement updates as required. Your principal emphasis will be on maintaining and enhancing the Navy’s premier C2 Supply Family of Systems (FoS). The characteristics of these individual systems constitute a system of systems. Since this collection of systems may also function within a web server environment this developer must also possess knowledge of and experience in working in a Java environment. The selected candidate must have the demonstrated ability to utilize their problem-solving skills to tackle the complex challenges related to a well-established enterprise system.

*This is a hybrid requirement. Applicants must be in easy traveling distance to report onsite in Norfolk, VA at least twice month*

What You’ll Get to Do:

  • Work with NTCSS and OOMA Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to modify NTCSS and OOMA applications based on approved Change Requests (CRs).

  • Develop, test, and Implement corrective actions and enhancements to applications.

  • Develop installation packages using Visual Studio and Wix and create upgrade paths for system updates.

  • Provide status of tasking to project leads and management.

  • Perform additional software and engineering functions to include analysis of impacts to existing system functionality and interfaces for potential modifications.

  • Apply a “system of systems” Engineering (SoSE) based approach on a continuous basis when performing systems engineering functions such as creation of requirements and design documentation.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

  • Must have Active SECRET Clearance.

  • DoD 8570 IAT Level 2 certification or higher (ex. CompTIA Security+, CASP, CISSP or related).

  • BS Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or other related Science and Engineering oriented curricula and 7 years + of related experience.

  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience of PowerBuilder to include in-depth knowledge in the following areas:

  • PowerBuilder 2017 R3 and above

  • Sybase Adaptive Server Enterprise v15 and above

  • PowerBuilder Foundation Classes (PFC) knowledge

  • Dynamic data windows knowledge

  • Knowledge of MDI (Multiple Document Interface)

  • Familiarization of the System of Systems Engineering (SoSE) methodology

  • Demonstrated Knowledge of and experience in the application of the principles of Object-Oriented Programming

  • Knowledge of and experience in the application of the principles of Relational Database constructs

  • Demonstrated experience in Sybase and Oracle RDMS to include experience in creating and writing stored procedures, views, tables, etc.

  • Knowledge of and experience in Linux OS 6 and above

  • Demonstrated knowledge of and experience in the use of the following web developer tools:

  • Eclipse

  • Perl

  • Apache-Tomcat

  • Knowledge of session Manager tools:

  • Putty

  • WinSCP

  • Experience in the following supporting development tools: JIRA, Crucible, Jenkins Automation Server, SVN

  • Demonstrated ability to perform complex problem solving across multiple OS and network environments.

  • Proven ability to effectively use oral and written communications to convey ideas and concepts, explain rationale, and provide recommendations.

  • Ability to commute onsite in Norfolk, VA frequently.

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of and experience in Java programming.

  • Working knowledge of AWS and Azure HCI.

  • Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA), Microsoft Certified Solutions Developer (MCSD) or Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE).

  • Knowledge of SOAP and RESTful Web Services Access Protocols.

  • Knowledge of Reflection Terminal Emulation.

  • Knowledge of SOAPUI for testing web services.

  • Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA), Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) or Red Hat Certified Architect (RHCA).

Since this position can be worked in more than one location, the range shown is the national average for the position.

The proposed salary range for this position is:

$89,500-$188,000
